Stand Up Fitness was created by Brody Welte, a long-time fitness and recreation enthusiast. Working in the industry for more than 10 years Welte has worked as a Personal Trainer, Recreation Leader and Adventure Guide. The GCSUPC idea came about after being inspired by some of the different races around the country. Each race seems to showcase the typical paddling conditions in the region in which it was held. The GCSUPC will be no different. The race is designed to be challenging and expose the racers to all of the varying water conditions that define the Gulf Coast of Florida, the sometimes rough Gulf as well as the smooth intracoastal, down wind and up wind, with the tidal flow and against the tidal flow.
